I noticed Digital Point forum (also known as DP forum) was down since more than 12 hours ago. When I tried to access the forums this morning (GMT+7) all I get was an error message saying that there was a database error on the forum.
I still not quite sure what happened with the forum, FYI, Digital Point forums used vBulletin forum software, which is the most popular and reliable commercial forum software.
Any one knows what exactly happen to the forum? I hope the problem was not caused by some stupid crackers trying to DDos the forum.
I learned a lot from this forum, I hope there’s nothing serious happened to it.
Update: The forum seems to be up again now, no explanation from Shawn yet but it might be caused by the fire that hit The Planet data center.
oh, i tried to log in since yesterday and i though is my line problem.

I actually took the plunge joining Digg from that forum. People were complaining about people getting banned.

I was banned from DP several days ago without any clear reasons (the message only stated that I got infraction).
I never spam nor confronted any DP members ever and I got banned. Bugger…

The Digital Point forums are still down. I first thought it is due the firewall restrictions on my company website. I tried with proxy but no help. Later through blogs it came to know that the site it self is down.
Nobody can believe such big forum will cause data base error.

Digital point is under Ddos attack, i just cant live without dp anymore, i spend more than 5 to 6 hrs daily there…
