Whether it’s a standard Home Page or an Article with no Category the information still comes for the database. The whole purpose it to sped up the reading of the Home Page. As far as I can see, this does nothing. To really be static the HTML would have to exist on the root as a file.

Can any one explain what roy said? In my case I’d like to create a blog page which looks like a frontpage. However when I do, all the articles set to display in the main frontpage appears in the 2nd frontpage as well!

there is no static content manager in joomla 1.5 . If you want a page to be “static”, in article edit mode you set the section to Uncatagorized.

Same as those above: can’t seem to find the whole “Static content manager” under the Content tab. Any updates on how to do it in Joomla 1.5.11?

I can’t believe that so many people praised these instructions. I’m not certain what version of Joomla this was written for since the author makes no mention of his/her version, but I couldn’t find anything about Static content Manager, unless the newer versions of Joomla has buried it deeper somewhere.
