I experienced this weird situation after I uploaded all of WordPress files from my computer to geekTips.net web host. It was OK when the site was still on my localhost, but strangely after I set everyhing up on the web host I realized that the Add Media buttons was missing from the top of WordPress HTML editor.

Wordpress Add Media Button Missing
I tried Googling and found no possible clues of any sort about the problem, I found some sites that was saying that the problem was possibly caused by Customize WordPress plugin. Customize this plugin usually used to customize the WordPress theme layout from the back-end.
For some people deactivating the plugin did solved the problem, but not in my case. I googled again for several minutes but still can’t find any solution to the problem I’m having. I’ve check my Firefox settings and Javascript was already on. I also tried to deactivate all the plugins I was using but that didn’t solve the problem.
Then I decided to close the browser and re-opened the browser again and voila the problem was gone. The Add Media button showed up and I can upload images and files again from geekTips. That surely made my day!

The “Events Category” plugin creates the same problem, I discovered.
