A great news for all Wine lovers out there, Wine development team recently released newest version of Wine (Wine 1.1.10)!
The 1.1.12 release have several new features and some bug fix from the previous release which will resulted in a better user experience when running the program.
For those of you who don’t have a clue what Wine is, Wine is an open source application that allows you to run Windows-based applications under your Linux operating system. You don’t even need to installed Windows on other partition. Great huh?
What’s New on Wine 1.1.12?
- You can now run several simple 64 bit application using Wine
- 64-bit code generation in the IDL compiler.
- Wine now support subpixel font rendering
- New version of Gecko engine
- Several bug fixes from the previous release

I’ve used previous version of wine in my Ubuntu(.deb) but discontinued later because of some security flaws. Hope this will keep my system more secure.
