By default, Windows Vista sidebar will only appear when all opened windows are minimized or when you view the desktop. In other word, if you open IE7 then you cannot see the Windows Vista sidebar, because it is underneath the IE7 window.
We can make Windows Vista sidebar to always appear, even when all of your window are maximized. To make it happen, follow these simple steps:

- Click on “Start” button, then click on “Control Panel”.
- Choose “Sidebar Properties” icon.
- Then, activate the “Keep the sidebar on top of other Windows”
- Don’t forget to hit the “Apply” button.

The thing is i want it to go back to the default where i can have it under the open windows, but on the desktop when i switch to it.
At the moment when i “alt+tab” to desktop it disappears, only to reappear when i reopen a window. i can view it on the desktop if i close the windows though.
