Can’t find the right icons for your web project? Don’t know where to find huge collecttion of web icons? The answer to those question is www.iconfinder.net. IconFinder is some sort of web icons search engine on the net.
With it’s minimalist front page, it looks like IconFinder trying to follow what  Google have done with their front page.

Simple and clean homepage.
To use IconFinder, all we have to do is type some keywords from the icon we trying to find. In a matter of seconds IconFinder will show all the icons resulting from our search query.

All the icons on IconFinder have various size, staring from 16×16 pixel to 64×64 pixel, and all of them are in PNG format. Accoring to Martin Leblanc (founder of IconFinder.Net), the main reason he choose PNG format for all the icons was because of PNG’s alpha-channel feature that can show transparent images.

Various size for each icon
There are three types of license for all the icons:

  • Creative Commons
  • GPL
  • LGPL

Couple months ago, IconFinder was closed because it couldn’t handle sudden massive increase of their visitors caused by the Digg Effect. Fortunately, that didn’t last very long, IconFinder is now re-open with better server than before.
Enjoy searching for web icons.
