Today mark a new day to all Joomla community. After a long delay the new Joomla 1.5 stable finally released. Joomla 1.5 is fully developed from stratch, this not a patch or security update version, this is the new begining for Joomla.
You can see a lot of difference between Joomla 1.5 with the previous Joomla 1.0.x, the code was build from scratch, a new set of template for the frontend and backend of Joomla 1.5.

Programmers and designers will be happy with Joomla 1.5 flexibility. Programmers can build Joomla extention easier with a set of new API, while designers will have more chances to create beautiful templates with the new template system.
“Joomla 1.5 boast remarkable advances over Joomla 1.0 in areas of extensibility, usability and internationalization” said Brad (one of the Joomla core team) in Joomla.org forum.

I believe the most missed subject about this awesome CMS is the usage of Model View Controller within the framework. A joomla 1.5 tutorial discusses this in more detail
