Great jQuery Tooltip Plugins

During the last couple of weeks I was involved in redesigning a news portal, the layout I created requires some help from jQuery to make some features work as intended. And during the process, I discovered several neat jQuery plugins that brought my attention. And I’m planning to write about them here in geekTips.

For the first part, I’ll wrote about jQuery tooltip. We can use tooltip to give users a slight idea about the information on a link before they click on it, you can also use tooltip to display information on a web form about what user should type in the form fields. Read more…

I experienced this weird situation after I uploaded all of WordPress files from my computer to geekTips.net web host. It was OK when the site was still on my localhost, but strangely after I set everyhing up on the web host I realized that the Add Media buttons was missing from the top of WordPress HTML editor.

Play DVD on Linux Ubuntu

If you’re new to Ubuntu, you might be wondering how on earth I can play DVD (movie, music, program) on my Ubuntu? Well, before you can play DVD on your Ubuntu you need to do several things.

  1. First thing first, open the terminal window
  2. Type this command in the terminal window and execute itsudo apt-get install totem-xine libxine1-ffmpeg libdvdread3
  3. If you’re being ask for password, just enter you SU (Super Administrator) password.
  4. Then, type another commandsudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh

Play DVD on Ubuntu Linux

That’s a wrap, you can now play DVD on your beloved Ubuntu machine using Totem movie player.
