Drupal 6.0 Finally Released
After a year of development, the Drupal core team finally released Drupal 6.0 stable version. This released marks a new beginning for Drupal and its communities. Drupal is known for its performance, scalability and flexibility.
According to Drupal team, Drupal 6 features a lot of improvements in this award winning open source CMS.
The Cool Features in Drupal 6
- The easiest Drupal version, because it will now be easier to install Drupal on your server, features drag and drop administration and improved multilingual interface
- The most secure Drupal version
- Add some great core modules including Actions and triggers, OpenID, and Update status module
- More flexible Drupal theming
- Imporoved Forum module which include polls, quiz forms or any other type of content in forums. You can also set moderation for forums
- New menu system, extended logging, more optimized code and much more
Upgrading to Drupal 6
Please note, if you're planning to upgrade your current Drupal 4.x or 5.x to Drupal 6.x please make sure that all the module you used on your site have Drupal 6.x version. And also to note is always backup your files and database before upgrading.
