WordPress 2.7 is Release. Download it Now!

Finally, after all of hard work from all of WordPress developevers the stable version of WordPress 2.7 (code name ‘Coltrane’) is release. This version marked another great achievement  by WordPress developers.

The stable version is release about a week after the released of WordPress 2.7 RC1, looks like a very fast move from the WordPress team.

There are a lot of new features comes in WordPress 2.7, here are some of them:

  • New administration layout (including the dashboard)
  • New comment system

WordPress development team today announced that WordPress 2.7 RC1 has been released for public. The community has been waiting for this version and finally the development team is so close in releasing the stable version.

As some of us might know, WordPress 2.7 features a whole new set of new back-end GUI, on 2.7 the backend will have 3 columns unlike WordPress 2.5 and 2.6 which only has 1 to 2 columns which leaves a lot of space if we’re using a  high resolution monitor. Read more…

I experienced this weird situation after I uploaded all of WordPress files from my computer to geekTips.net web host. It was OK when the site was still on my localhost, but strangely after I set everyhing up on the web host I realized that the Add Media buttons was missing from the top of WordPress HTML editor.

The new WordPress theme directory is now moved from http://themes.wordpress.net to a new location plus an easier way to upload your WordPress theme to the directory.
